The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to mobilizing people and resources to drive research for a cure and provide vital support to those affected by multiple sclerosis (MS). The Society actively funds innovative research, advocates for policy changes, offers professional education, collaborates with MS organizations worldwide, and delivers programs and services to help individuals with MS and their families manage the challenges they face. Rooted in its mission, the Society partners closely with volunteers and staff who engage through effective communication, meaningful opportunities, and reciprocal learning to further the fight against MS.
This exciting opportunity is for a Coordinator to join the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Southeast Region, specifically supporting the Georgia Chapter. This position is classified as a Partner - Professional role and is market-based, requiring candidates to be located within the Atlanta, GA area. The Coordinator plays a critical role in driving revenue and donor engagement through a diverse range of community event campaigns, including Walk MS, Hike MS, Climb to the Top, and several endurance events such as Bike MS, Challenge Walk MS, and Finish MS. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and volunteers to ensure seamless event logistics and delivering compelling experiences to participants, enhancing community involvement and donor stewardship.
The Coordinator will be responsible for supporting volunteer recruitment and onboarding, managing vendor relationships for event supplies, tracking inventory, and cultivating a small personal donor portfolio. Their work supports regional event planning and execution, providing onsite staffing to ensure smooth participant experiences at both market and regional events. Additionally, the position requires collaboration across functions to maintain standard operating procedures that enhance team efficiencies and ensure consistent donor engagement.
The role includes travel as necessary, up to approximately 50% of work time, with a combination of remote work and in-person attendance at meetings and events. Compensation ranges from $50,000 to $55,000 annually, with final offers reflecting the candidate’s geographic location and experience level. Employees are offered a highly competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, paid holidays, a 401(k) retirement savings plan with employer match, commuter benefits, and an array of health and welfare programs such as medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability coverage, and access to mental health services through Spring Health.
Working at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society means joining a passionate team committed to making a difference in the lives of those impacted by MS. The organization values diversity and inclusion, striving to create a workplace where all employees feel empowered to bring their authentic selves. This role offers a unique chance to be part of a dynamic, mission-driven organization with ample opportunities for career growth and development through structured pathways that support professional advancement and deepening expertise. The Society emphasizes transparency and fairness in career development, ensuring employees understand expectations and opportunities for growth in either leadership or individual contributor pathways.
If you have experience in administrative, fundraising, or customer service roles—preferably within nonprofit or development environments—and possess strong organizational, communication, and technical skills, this role invites you to contribute meaningfully to a cause that impacts countless lives. Candidates must be comfortable handling confidential information, supporting event logistics, and collaborating effectively in a fast-paced team setting. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society encourages candidates who are eager to learn and take initiative to apply and become part of a community dedicated to writing the last chapter of MS.
