The Coordinator of Facilities & Event Operations for the UGA Equestrian program plays a vital role within the Athletics-Equestrian department, providing essential support for the maintenance, operation, and event management of equestrian facilities. This full-time, benefits-eligible employee position offers a competitive salary range of $40,000 to $45,000 annually. The role demands the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary, to ensure smooth operations during equestrian events or facility needs. Responsibilities include assisting both the barn manager and the facilities manager with the general upkeep of the equestrian grounds, contributing to facility maintenance tasks such as fencing installation, landscaping, mowing, weed control, fertilizing, and jump maintenance to guarantee a safe and functional environment for athletes and horses.
The coordinator is also responsible for managing equipment upkeep and serves as the event manager for all equestrian events hosted by UGA. This includes scheduling deliveries, coordinating set-up and breakdown of athletic and equestrian equipment, preparing the arena, and overseeing the cleanup process before and after events. The position requires a keen understanding of NCAA, SEC, and institutional rules related to equestrian sports to ensure compliance during all activities. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, operate farm machinery, and lift or move objects up to 50 pounds, often assisting student athletes.
