Job Description

The University of Northern Colorado (UNC) is a distinguished public doctoral and research institution located in Greeley, Colorado. Founded in 1889, UNC has a rich history of providing transformative educational experiences to its diverse student body. As a recognized top university for social mobility and a proud Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), UNC serves a significant portion of undergraduates who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. The university is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and innovative environment not only for its students but also for its faculty and staff. UNC offers comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities to empower its employees to succeed academically, professionally, and personally. The campus community is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring that all members thrive in a welcoming and respectful atmosphere.

The Office of Admissions at UNC is seeking a dynamic and organized Coordinator of Events to join their Events and Visits team. This position plays a crucial role in the university's recruitment efforts by managing the logistical coordination and operational execution of both on- and off-campus admissions events. Reporting to the Associate Director of Events and Visits, the Coordinator of Events is responsible for ensuring seamless delivery of high-quality programs that engage prospective and admitted students, their families, and various community partners. With a focus on enhancing the recruitment experience, this role aids in planning events that introduce attendees to the university’s academic offerings, campus resources, and community connections.

This professional administrative role comes with an annual salary range of $55,000 to $57,289 and is classified within UNC’s Professional Administrative employment category. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and student-centered individual who demonstrates strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding UNC’s mission and values. The Coordinator will support the Associate Director by managing complex timelines, coordinating stakeholder communications, and facilitating cross-departmental collaboration to maintain event quality and consistency across multiple programs.

Additional responsibilities include continuous evaluation and assessment of events through data analysis and feedback integration, maintaining event supply inventories, and improving planning processes. The position also offers opportunities to assume primary coordination duties for selected events over time. The Coordinator is expected to champion inclusive practices throughout their work and contribute to an equitable campus environment in alignment with UNC's designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution.

Candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of application, as UNC is currently unable to sponsor H-1B visas. This role may require evening and weekend work to support event needs. The position invites individuals who are enthusiastic about working with students and representing the university with professionalism and care, while fostering a supportive and welcoming admissions environment. UNC offers a competitive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability insurance, defined contribution retirement plans, sick leave, tuition waivers, and additional leave options. Dependents and spouses of eligible employees may also qualify for undergraduate tuition grants. UNC’s commitment to equal opportunity and accommodation ensures that the workplace is accessible and respectful for all employees.
