Job Description
The Greater Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven, professionally staffed non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the business community within the regions of Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, and Agoura Hills. Established to foster economic growth, advocacy, and community engagement, the Chamber plays a pivotal role in bolstering the local economy by serving as a resource and connector for businesses of various sizes and industries. The Chamber’s mission revolves around creating a thriving commercial environment through legislative advocacy, economic development initiatives, and by facilitating networking and educational opportunities for its members. It works vigorously to bridge the gap between businesses, local governments, and the community, ensuring a cohesive approach to regional prosperity and collective success.
The Coordinator position is an essential role within the Chamber, providing cross-functional support primarily to two vital departments: Marketing & Events and Government Affairs & Tourism. This role contributes significantly to the execution of key initiatives that align with the Chamber’s mission of economic vitality, advocacy, and fostering connections within the community. The Marketing & Events department is charged with managing all communications, branding efforts, and event productions, aiming to enhance member engagement through strategic marketing campaigns and expertly organized programs. The Government Affairs & Tourism department serves as the conduit between the business community, local government entities, and the travel industry, focusing on legislative advocacy and supporting economic development initiatives that benefit the region.
In this diverse role, the Coordinator manages various responsibilities, including handling the Chamber’s email marketing campaigns, overseeing social media strategies and content, maintaining digital assets such as the online event calendar and website, and assisting in the planning and execution of networking events and signature programs. Additionally, the Coordinator supports advocacy communications, coordinates logistics for committees and boards, and helps manage tourism initiatives including member marketing reimbursements. The position also entails providing administrative support, managing meeting preparations, stakeholder communications, and general office duties. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and possesses excellent communication skills along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing software. The position requires a collaborative spirit, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting the Chamber’s overarching strategic goals.
