The Kid Zone Coordinator plays a crucial role within the YMCA, overseeing and supporting the daily and weekly operations of the Kid Zone childcare area, which caters to children ages 6 weeks to 9 years old. This role involves supervising a team of Kid Zone staff, ensuring that all children are in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. The Coordinator is responsible for creating purposeful and fun activity plans that promote engagement, learning, and enjoyment for young children. Additionally, the role includes organizing special monthly events designed to enrich the experience for children and their families, further supporting family connections and community building.
As a Kid Zone Coordinator, you will serve as a role model and active participant in childcare activities by working alongside staff members directly with children and parents. Your leadership will help maintain high standards of safety, quality care, and customer service. This position requires a flexible schedule with the ability to cover vacancies and call-outs that may occur during daytime, evening, and Saturday morning hours, helping to ensure consistent and reliable childcare services.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 2 years childcare experience
- First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire
- ability to supervise staff
- flexibility to work daytime, evening, and Saturday morning hours
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask and manage special events
