The position of Coordinator for Student Affairs Experience & Events at the University of Oklahoma is an integral role within the Student Services department, specifically focused on delivering exceptional division-wide programming that celebrates and supports student life. Reporting within the division of Student Affairs, this professional hourly role is designed to oversee and manage high-impact student traditions and events that contribute significantly to the university’s culture and student engagement. The annual targeted salary for this position is $50,300, which reflects the candidate's experience and qualifications. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional weekend hours and potential travel requirements.

This role is at the nexus of event planning, program coordination, and student engagement. The Coordinator is responsible for maximizing the efficient use of internal resources to ensure the successful execution of all Student Affairs events. This includes managing logistics, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and upholding inclusive hospitality and operational safety standards. The ideal candidate excels at delivering seamless event experiences that resonate well with diverse student audiences, while adeptly handling budgeting, scheduling, and communication across multiple university stakeholders. Experience with campus-wide event scheduling software, virtual event platforms, and internal financial systems is highly preferred.

Furthermore, the Coordinator acts as the primary operational lead for organizing meaningful student-centered programs that enhance the student journey at OU. Strong customer service skills and the ability to provide clear direction under pressure are essential attributes for success in this role. Candidates should be detail-oriented and capable of managing administrative oversight for several events simultaneously. This position requires a bachelor's degree or a substantial amount of relevant experience, with flexibility in qualifications to honor equivalent work experience. A valid Oklahoma Driver’s License is necessary or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 48 months related experience in lieu of degree
  • 24 months event planning and coordination experience
  • Valid Oklahoma Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with some weekends
  • Experience with outreach or public relations preferred
  • Background check clearance
  • Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks simultaneously
