This exciting role of Coordinator, Events is classified as a regular full-time position that serves as the primary coordinator for all employer-facing events and engagement activities within the Norse Network Hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of event logistics for various initiatives such as employer visits, networking events, industry roundtables, workforce summits, partner recognition events, advisory council meetings, career exploration programs, and experiential learning events. This position demands an individual who is exceptionally organized, skilled in event planning, and possesses a strong hospitality mindset to create and execute flawless events. Additionally, the Coordinator will collaborate across university colleges, faculty, staff, and community partners to coordinate cross-functional events that align with workforce engagement goals.
The role includes recruiting, training, scheduling, and supervising student employees and event support personnel, ensuring a cohesive team effort in delivering successful programs. Tracking employer engagement, analyzing event metrics, and managing post-event follow-up using university CRM platforms are essential components, enabling continuous improvements and fostering strong external relationships. Furthermore, the Coordinator will assist with various special projects, strategic initiatives, and provide operational support to advance the Norse Network Hub's mission. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Three years of experience in event management, project management, employer relations, hospitality, higher education administration, workforce development, business engagement, or a related field
- Equivalent combination of education and directly related experience in event management, hospitality, workforce development, business engagement, or project coordination accepted
- Driver's license and dependable vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Frequent standing, walking, and event setup activities
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Three years of experience in event management, project management, employer relations, hospitality, higher education administration, workforce development, business engagement, or a related field
- Experience coordinating large-scale events preferred
- Experience working with external partners or employers preferred
- Experience within higher education, workforce development, economic development, or nonprofit organizations preferred
- Experience supervising student employees or volunteers preferred
- Strong customer service and hospitality mindset
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms, event management software, registration systems, and reporting tools
- Ability to analyze event outcomes and recommend improvements
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence when interacting with executive-level partners
Job Duties
- Plan, coordinate, and execute employer-facing events including networking events, industry roundtables, employer visits, workforce summits, partner recognition events, advisory council meetings, career exploration programs, and experiential learning initiatives
- Manage all event logistics including scheduling, registration, space reservations, catering, parking, technology, vendor coordination, signage, room setup, event materials, and day-of-event execution
- Serve as the primary hospitality coordinator for employer visits and partner engagement activities, ensuring a seamless and professional experience for all external stakeholders
- Coordinate employer engagement tracking, event metrics, participant feedback, attendance reporting, and post-event follow-up activities utilizing university systems and CRM platforms
- Collaborate with university colleges, faculty/staff, and community partners to coordinate cross-functional events and workforce engagement initiatives
- Help recruit event support staff, train as necessary, schedule, and supervise student employees and event support staff assisting with NNH programming and employer engagement activities
- Assist with special projects, strategic initiatives, and operational support activities for the Norse Network Hub
