Job Description
Feeding Tampa Bay is a prominent non-profit organization dedicated to addressing hunger across ten counties in West Central Florida. With its extensive network of over 400 food pantry partners, Feeding Tampa Bay has made a significant impact by distributing 85 million meals last year alone. As a crucial member of the Feeding America network, the organization goes beyond providing just food by creating multifaceted strategies aimed at dismantling barriers to food security and promoting long-term stability for nearly one million people in the region. Their mission is rooted in equity, respect, and community mobilization to eradicate hunger while fostering sustainable solutions.
The Event Coordinator role at Feeding Tampa Bay is a dynamic position offering a vital contribution to the organization’s community presence and fundraising efforts. Based mostly on-site at The Causeway Center, this nonexempt position reports directly to the Signature Events Manager. It comes with a competitive salary range between $49,200 and $50,660, reflective of the sophisticated level of responsibility involved. The Event Coordinator’s primary focus is the meticulous planning and management of diverse events, including corporate conferences, fundraisers, social gatherings, and community celebrations. Every event planned is intended not just to be well-executed but also to resonate deeply with attendees and stakeholders.
This role demands a collaborative spirit, as the coordinator will work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams, bridging communication and logistical gaps to create well-orchestrated events. Attention to detail is paramount, involving crafting event concepts, managing schedules, budgets, timelines, floor plans, and vendor negotiations. The Event Coordinator will oversee all phases of the event life cycle, from setup through execution to teardown, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards, including obtaining certificates of insurance and complying with venue capacity and access requirements.
More than logistical oversight, the role calls for a positive ambassador who embodies Feeding Tampa Bay’s culture and commitment. This position offers the chance to support the nonprofit sector by actively contributing to events that enhance community engagement and visibility. The coordinator must possess excellent organizational skills along with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. The position also encourages participation in mission-driven programs, including food distribution initiatives and disaster relief efforts, further embedding the employee in the organization’s core goals.
Overall, the Event Coordinator role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with substantial experience in event sales and execution, particularly within hospitality or convention center environments. This position is a unique intersection of event management expertise and community service, providing meaningful opportunities to influence the success of both Feeding Tampa Bay’s signature events and its broader mission against hunger.
