Job Description

Feeding Tampa Bay is a pivotal organization that serves ten counties across West Central Florida, playing a critical role in hunger relief throughout this diverse and expansive region. As a distinguished member of the Feeding America network, Feeding Tampa Bay made a remarkable impact by distributing over 85 million meals last year through direct service initiatives and its extensive network of more than 400 food pantry partners. Dedicated to addressing food insecurity, this nonprofit organization recognizes that food alone is not the ultimate solution to hunger. Consequently, its mission extends beyond immediate food provision to forging enduring pathways to stability for nearly one million residents in the area. By connecting and mobilizing various solutions, resources, and partnerships, Feeding Tampa Bay advocates for sustainable support systems that empower individuals, families, and seniors to overcome barriers and achieve long-term food security and economic resilience.

The Event Coordinator role at Feeding Tampa Bay is an essential position within the Experience Division, primarily responsible for orchestrating a wide variety of events at The Causeway Center. These events range from corporate conferences and professional meetings to fundraisers, social gatherings, and large community celebrations. The role demands a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and can manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining seamless communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams. Reporting directly to the Signature Events Manager, the Event Coordinator ensures all logistics—from conceptual event design to precise execution and dismantling—are flawlessly handled. This includes developing event objectives and floor plans, managing timelines, negotiating with vendors, coordinating catering and technical needs, and handling post-event evaluations and invoicing.

In addition to acting as the primary liaison for clients, this role emphasizes cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders to secure repeat business and uphold the positive reputation of Feeding Tampa Bay's premier event space. The coordinator will also uphold compliance with safety protocols and city regulations, including verifying certificates of insurance and monitoring venue capacity. The ability to proactively solve problems, adapt quickly to changes, and maintain an upbeat, professional demeanor is critical to success in this role. Furthermore, the position requires some flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the nature of event management.

This role serves not only as a cornerstone for successful event execution but also as a mission-driven ambassador who actively participates in broader Feeding Tampa Bay initiatives such as food distribution programs and disaster relief operations. The salary range for this nonexempt, mostly on-site position is competitive, offering between $49,200 and $50,660 annually, reflecting the importance and scope of responsibilities managed. The Event Coordinator not only contributes to memorable, impactful experiences for external clients and community members but also plays a vital part in amplifying feeding and support programs that directly contribute to eliminating hunger across the Tampa Bay region.
