Job Description
Magnolia Independent School District (Magnolia ISD) is a dedicated educational institution committed to providing exceptional learning experiences and community services within the Magnolia community. Among its various departments, the Magnolia Event Center stands out as a premier venue facility designed to host a diverse range of events including educational gatherings, community celebrations, corporate meetings, and other special occasions. The Event Center is strategically positioned to serve the needs of the district and its surrounding areas, making it a vital asset to Magnolia ISD's mission of community engagement and facility utilization.
The role of Coordinator - Event Center at Magnolia Event Facilities is a pivotal position within the Magnolia ISD framework. This campus professional partnership role is specifically geared toward assisting the Director of Event Facilities in managing the day-to-day operations of the Magnolia Event Center. The position is classified as exempt and offers a pay grade commensurate with the experience of the candidate, reflecting the level of professional responsibility required. This job is based on a calendar of 226 days per school year, which allows for extensive involvement in a variety of events and operational management activities.
As a Coordinator, the individual will play a central role in overseeing event coordination, social media management, facility marketing, and the promotion of the Magnolia Event Center. The Coordinator is tasked with ensuring smooth event booking processes, managing logistical setup and breakdown procedures for event spaces, and maintaining excellent communication and service standards with vendors and customers, both internal and external. Effective leadership skills, strong organizational abilities, and customer service expertise are crucial for success in this role.
The Coordinator will also handle billing, invoicing, and deposits related to event operations, maintain inventory of necessary equipment and materials, and collaborate closely with other departments and district staff to ensure a unified approach to facility management. The position requires flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the varying demands of special events and functions.
Candidates for this role ideally possess a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas driver’s license. Proficiency in computer operation, Google applications, and records management is expected, alongside the ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats. Knowledge of building management, facility maintenance operations, and problem-solving capabilities are also important aspects that will ensure the role holder effectively contributes to the overall success and efficiency of the Magnolia Event Center.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the Coordinator must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, project a positive and proactive attitude, and contribute innovative ideas to promote continued growth and excellence within the event facilities department. Attendance and reliability are emphasized as essential functions of this job, reflecting the importance of the Coordinator’s role in maintaining consistent and high-quality service delivery.
Safety and working conditions are also a focus of this position. The Coordinator must be physically capable of performing tasks such as bending, stooping, standing, walking, and climbing ladders. Operating tools and equipment safely, following established safety procedures, and addressing unsafe conditions promptly are integral to maintaining a safe work environment in the facility. The role often involves mental and physical demands including emotional control under stress, working in sometimes tiring or uncomfortable positions, and exposure to various temperature conditions, underscoring the need for resilience and adaptability in this dynamic work setting.
