The Athletic Event and Facility Operations Manager position at Wake Forest University plays a critical role in the successful execution of daily operations and event-specific management across all athletic programs. This full-time role focuses on facilities management, event logistics, compliance, and safety, encompassing both routine maintenance and special event coordination. The Manager will independently oversee game day operations for select sports such as Volleyball, Women’s Tennis, and Men’s Tennis, acting as the primary game manager responsible for all aspects of game-day execution. Responsibilities include liaising with visiting teams, coordinating travel and practice logistics, preparing operational guides and event materials, managing credentialing and signage, and ensuring hospitality arrangements.

Collaboration with capital projects and facility operations teams is also essential to research, evaluate, and improve event management processes.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Ability to perform medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently and/or 10 pounds constantly to move objects
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold
- Subject to hazards, atmospheric conditions, oils, and infectious diseases
- General knowledge of all ACC and NCAA competition guidelines related to game management
- Ability to communicate effectively with various constituents including general public, students, coaches, and administrators
- Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills

Job Duties
- Leads facilities operations and event management including external rentals and related responsibilities
- Supervises facilities management of McCreary Football Field House, Spry Stadium, Kentner Stadium, and Wake Forest Tennis Center
- Coordinates gameday operations and long-term facility maintenance
- Acts as primary game manager for select sports including Volleyball, Women’s Tennis, and Men’s Tennis
- Manages all event operational logistics such as visiting team liaison, travel logistics, operational guides, credential and signage production, and hospitality spaces
- Ensures compliance with regulations, permits, and licenses
- Implements safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Identifies and mitigates risks associated with events and facilities
- Provides updates and reports on event and facility operations
- Coordinates with event support staff including ball people, announcers, scoreboard operators, security, medical services, and others
- Oversees in-game responsibilities including crowd control, facility troubleshooting, field and equipment upkeep, team and official liaison, and security implementation
- Supports Assistant Athletic Director with football, basketball, and select event operations
- Serves as primary contact for assigned vendors and external partners
- Maintains supplies, equipment inventory, and department-owned and rented vehicles
- Attends operational meetings and assists with special projects
- Conducts post-event evaluations and implements improvements
