Job Description
Forbes is an iconic global media brand that has represented success and influence for over a century. Known for producing trusted journalism that both informs and inspires, Forbes highlights the individuals and movements shaping key industries, driving success, and making significant global impact. The brand is renowned for its influential communities ranging from billionaires and business leaders to rising entrepreneurs, creators, and innovators. With a vast global presence, Forbes reaches more than 140 million people monthly through its trusted journalism, signature ForbesLive events, and a network of 49 licensed local editions spanning 81 countries.
As a global media powerhouse, Forbes is constantly evolving with the times, leveraging digital advancements while remaining committed to its mission of spotlighting impactful stories and connecting influential audiences. This unique position enables Forbes to host and promote a wide range of events that bring together leading minds across industries in both virtual and in-person environments.
The role of Coordinator, Audience & Community Marketing sits within the Audience Development and Community Marketing team at Forbes. Reporting directly to the Director of Audience & Community Marketing, this role plays an essential part in accelerating the growth of Forbes' audience for its in-person, virtual, and hybrid events. The Coordinator works collaboratively across multiple departments to deliver strategic marketing initiatives that bolster attendance, engagement, and data acquisition. This role demands someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while being eager to learn and develop professionally.
Working remotely or in a hybrid fashion, preferably based in the New York or New Jersey area, the Coordinator will support local events, assist with on-site event logistics, and offer in-person collaboration whenever necessary. The role occasionally involves travel and direct event support, highlighting the dynamic nature of this position.
Key responsibilities include managing audience growth through multiple marketing channels like newsletters, partner collaboration, advertising, social media, and community outreach. The Coordinator drafts compelling marketing copy, builds landing pages and event registration modules using platforms like WordPress and Bizzabo, and identifies strategic marketing partnerships to extend Forbes' event reach. This role also involves managing the marketing process from planning stages through approvals while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Beyond marketing execution, this position also focuses on tracking and analyzing event data, maintaining post-event reports, integrating AI tools to enhance reporting and database management, and conducting digital surveys to maximize event impact. On the customer service front, the Coordinator handles inquiries related to events, ensures timely resolution of issues, and converts prospective attendees effectively.
On-site event responsibilities include supporting technology setup at registration, serving as a first point of contact for attendees, and collaborating closely with logistics teams to ensure smooth event delivery. This hands-on aspect ensures the Coordinator is actively engaged with the event experience from start to finish.
The ideal candidate brings 2-4 years of event marketing experience, preferably holds a B.A. degree in marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations, or a related field, and demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills. Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Salesforce, Pardot, Knak, event registration platforms, and project management tools is essential. Above all, a positive, can-do attitude and a strong willingness to learn and analyze solutions are highly valued.
The annual salary for this role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000, reflecting Forbes' commitment to attracting dedicated and talented professionals. Forbes offers a flexible working environment and embraces diversity and equal opportunity in its hiring practices. This role presents an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to join an iconic media brand and contribute to its thriving live events and audience development efforts.
