Job Description

The Woodlands Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton, is a distinguished resort located in the Houston area, situated just two miles away from the picturesque Woodlands Waterway. Celebrating its 50th anniversary alongside The Woodlands township, this resort offers a unique blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for both relaxation and business gatherings. The resort is part of HEI Hotels and Resorts, a company known for valuing its associates and investing heavily in their development, compensation, and well-being. HEI Hotels and Resorts recognizes that its greatest asset is its people, and consequently, it strives to provide an inclusive and supportive work environment where employees can thrive and excel.

The role of the Assistant Bartender at The Woodlands Resort is essential in maintaining a premium guest experience. This position involves assisting the bartender in serving guests efficiently and courteously to ensure positive interactions at all times. Responsibilities include managing inventory by retrieving orders from the storeroom, verifying the accuracy of deliveries, and ensuring that the bar is stocked with necessary supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, and garnishes. The Assistant Bartender will also prepare garnishes and fruits, mix and pour juices according to projected business needs, and maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas to meet health code standards.

The job also demands physical tasks such as scooping ice, transporting it to service areas, and managing heavy beer kegs by replacing taps and performing routine maintenance. Attention to detail is critical for tracking liquor bottles for return and requisition purposes. Effective communication skills are required to liaise confidently with guests and other team members, ensuring smooth operations behind the bar. Candidates with hotel experience are preferred, but HEI encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds, including military veterans, reflecting their commitment to inclusivity.

The compensation for this position is an hourly wage of $7.50 without eligibility for tips, service charges, or discretionary bonuses. Despite this, the overall employment with HEI Hotels and Resorts includes a comprehensive benefits program designed to support employees physically, mentally, and financially. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays, as well as pet insurance. Financial wellness is supported through life insurance options, disability plans, and a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Employees also enjoy additional perks such as hotel room discounts and other special offers.

At HEI, the culture is centered on supporting the employee’s growth through excellent training, tools, and a respectful work environment. The company’s emphasis on honoring its associates ensures that the assistant bartender role is not just a job, but a valuable career step in the hospitality industry. The Woodlands Resort represents a vibrant, dynamic place where employees can contribute to exceptional guest experiences while advancing their careers in a supportive setting.
