Job Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
ability to follow recipes and prepare meals according to menus
knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures
ability to lead kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness
capability to comply with state and federal food regulations

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
certification in sanitation or safe food handling preferred unless required by state and federal agencies
prior institutional or healthcare service experience preferred

Job Duties

Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents’ nutritional needs
cooks or prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in needed quantities
leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment
maintains a clean food service work area during food preparation and service
handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies in accordance with departmental procedures and state and federal regulations
