Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to follow recipes and prepare meals according to menus
- knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures
- ability to lead kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness
- capability to comply with state and federal food regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- certification in sanitation or safe food handling preferred unless required by state and federal agencies
- prior institutional or healthcare service experience preferred
Job Duties
- Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents’ nutritional needs
- cooks or prepares palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in needed quantities
- leads kitchen staff with food preparation, assembling trays, cleaning, and storage of supplies and equipment
- maintains a clean food service work area during food preparation and service
- handles, stores, and disposes of food supplies in accordance with departmental procedures and state and federal regulations
