Job Description

The resort is owned and operated by POWDR Corporation, a company dedicated to delivering exceptional mountain experiences. Mt. Bachelor provides a range of winter sports and activities along with a vibrant Food & Beverage department aimed at offering excellent dining choices to visitors. The resort is committed to fostering an inclusive and fun working environment where employees are encouraged to thrive professionally and enjoy the scenic outdoor lifestyle. Employees enjoy numerous perks such as free season passes, discounted family passes, free transportation from nearby communities, and exclusive resort discounts on everything from food to retail and equipment rentals.

The current opportunity at Mt. Bachelor is for individuals passionate about culinary arts to join their team as Cooks, with positions available across three levels: Cook 1 (Prep Cook), Cook 2 (Line Cook), and Cook 3 (Lead Cook). These roles are vital in ensuring the high standards of food quality, safety, and customer satisfaction that the resort upholds. Working in various lodge locations from base lodges to a mid-mountain lodge situated at 7,800 feet, cooks at Mt. Bachelor have the chance to hone their culinary skills in diverse settings with a mix of service styles, including full sit-down restaurants, cafeterias, bars, and coffee shops. The job requires adaptability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work in varying weather conditions that mountain life presents.

As a cook at Mt. Bachelor, individuals will contribute to creating memorable guest experiences by preparing food that meets strict safety and quality standards while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment. The role involves cross-training to support various kitchen stations, ensuring efficient and timely food preparation especially during peak service periods. Employees are encouraged to develop their culinary expertise through diverse tasks such as working multiple stations, using specialized kitchen equipment, and observing best practices in food storage and handling. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring efficient multitasking and teamwork to meet changing business demands and maintain excellent guest service.

Mt. Bachelor values safety and professionalism, expecting all kitchen staff to hold an Oregon Food Handler's Card, have strong technical skills in operating kitchen equipment, and meet physical demands including lifting heavy loads and enduring long periods of standing. The resort promotes a supportive culture where employees can contribute ideas, solve problems actively, and build lasting relationships with coworkers and guests alike. Compensation for these roles ranges from $18.75 to $24.50 per hour, depending on experience, and the minimum age requirement is 18.

This is a prime opportunity for culinary professionals, from aspiring cooks to experienced chefs, looking to build a rewarding career in a unique mountain resort setting. Mt.
