Job Description
Army Navy Country Club is a prestigious, private members-only Platinum Country Club with two premier locations in northern Virginia, specifically in Fairfax and Arlington. Dedicated to providing its members with an exceptional, memorable, and personable experience, the club stands out for its exclusivity and high standards of service. As a full-service country club, Army Navy Country Club offers a range of amenities and services designed to cater to the elite lifestyle of its members, including dining, recreational activities, events, and more. With a rich history and commitment to excellence, the club prides itself on maintaining a professional, welcoming atmosphere for both members and staff alike.
The role of Cook at Army Navy Country Club is a vital part of the culinary team, directly contributing to the quality and consistency of food served across the club’s restaurant and banquet services. This position requires an individual with a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a dynamic kitchen environment. The selected candidate will join a professional kitchen guided by Executive Sous Chef Ben Simpkins, known for his expertise in "farm to kitchen" cuisine, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients that reflect a commitment to sustainability and culinary excellence.
As a Cook, the individual will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to detailed recipes and portion control guidelines. This includes operating various cooking equipment safely and effectively, such as grills, fryers, stoves, ovens, slicers, choppers, and blenders. The role demands high standards of cleanliness, organization, food safety, and presentation to meet and exceed the club's standards and member expectations. Candidates will be expected to understand grilling procedures, proper food temperatures, timing, and plating techniques to ensure every dish is served with precision and care.
The position is suited to professionals who thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments and who are dedicated to maintaining food quality and safety standards as required by both the club and government health regulations. The Cook will also assist with station setup, inventory management, receiving and processing food deliveries, and ensuring that all kitchen and equipment areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after service. This role supports not only daily food preparation but also smooth kitchen operations, helping to maintain a welcoming dining experience that reflects the club’s values.
Joining Army Navy Country Club offers more than just a job; it is a chance to be part of a respected institution and culinary team that values professionalism, growth, and teamwork. The club supports its employees with competitive benefits including health insurance and sick leave, contributing to a balanced and rewarding career. This full-time position requires someone who can stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a busy, sometimes hot kitchen environment. Previous kitchen experience and knowledge of sanitary food handling are essential, with ServSafe Certification preferred.
If you are looking to advance your culinary career in a refined, supportive environment where your skills and professionalism are valued, the Cook position at Army Navy Country Club is an excellent opportunity. Apply through the club’s website and join a team dedicated to delivering culinary excellence and memorable experiences to an exclusive community.
