Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Washington State Food and Beverage Workers Permit
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Recent food service or cashiering experience
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and POS skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Washington State Food and Beverage Workers Permit
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food-handling standards and practices
- Recent food service, cashiering or customer service work experience or any combination of experience and education demonstrating capability to perform duties
- Effective communication skills with customers, employees, and departments
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Efficient time management skills
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Basic math skills for cash handling purposes
- Basic understanding of POS functionality
Job Duties
- Operate point of sale cash register system to record all transactions in keeping with cash handling policies and procedures
- Maintain all hot and cold foods at proper temperature
- Serve food according to recognized safety, sanitation and food-handling standards and procedures
- Prepare, portion, and package food and supplies according to standardized recipes including quick service items such as burgers, fish and chips, pizza, and hot/cold items
- Maintain clean and organized dining tables and seating area
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked retail sales area
- Adhere to organizational patient safety standards relevant to department or assigned nursing unit
- Operate a variety of commercial food service equipment safely and accurately including knives, slicers, thermometers, measuring utensils, scales, toaster, food warmer, mixer, blender, grill, fryer, broiler, and microwave oven
- Set up caterings as needed according to catering standards
- Timely delivery and pickup of all caterings
- Correctly understand event contracts from the Cater Tax system
- Follow department and government safety and sanitation standards
- Follow procedures for procuring food items from refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas
- Label, date, and store all foods in keeping with department standards
- Pre-dish and package food items in appropriate amounts
- Accountable for attendance, punctuality, and dependability
- Perform other duties as assigned
