Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals following planned menus and dietary requirements
  • ensure compliance with Louisiana Department of Health regulations and sanitation standards
  • follow food safety guidelines in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • portion and serve meals according to dietary specifications
  • monitor food temperatures and maintain proper storage procedures
  • assist in menu planning and accommodate special dietary needs
  • maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
  • receive and store food supplies properly
  • work closely with dietary staff, nurses, and supervisors to meet resident needs
