Job Requirements
- must be able to stand for prolonged periods up to 8 to 10 hours per shift
- must be able to walk frequently around production and packaging areas
- occasionally lift and move products or materials up to 25 to 50 pounds
- regularly bend or stoop to inspect lower-level machinery or products
- frequently reach over and around equipment or conveyors
- occasionally climb steps or ladders to access equipment or inspection points
- perform repetitive hand and arm movements when conducting tests or entering data
Job Qualifications
- proven experience as cook
- experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods including grilling, baking, and boiling
- ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- ability to work in a team
- good communication skills
Job Duties
- set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- prepare ingredients to use in cooking including chopping and peeling vegetables and cutting meat
- cook food in various utensils or grillers
- check food while cooking to stir or turn as necessary
- keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- check quality of ingredients
- sort and stock products on shelves, storerooms, refrigerators and freezers throughout the day
- maintain FIFO and product dating
- maintain cleanliness in the storage areas and kitchen
- promptly unload trucks and deliveries
- receive and store incoming products in a timely manner
- follow established procedures to label, track, and stock items properly
- ensure accurate product counts
- stand for up to 8 hours
- lift up to 50 pounds
- other duties as assigned
