Working as a Cooking School Associate involves a range of responsibilities, including preparing ingredient products, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the Cooking School, delivering hands-on and demonstrative cooking classes, and hosting private events. Employees in this position are expected to offer top-notch customer service, ensuring that every participant feels welcomed, motivated, and connected to the culinary journey. Furthermore, the associate plays a key role in recipe development, menu planning, ingredient purchasing, and marketing Harmons products effectively. Collaboration is a core component of this role, requiring close communication with the Cooking School Chef and Coordinator.

The ideal candidate will possess solid culinary knowledge, including knife skills, ingredient familiarity, and cooking techniques, paired with strong interpersonal and teaching skills. Job Qualifications

  • A 2-year college or technical school degree in culinary arts
  • or any combination of education, experience, and training providing knowledge, skills, and abilities

Job Duties

  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • ensures the Cooking School is clean, well-maintained, and meets company standards of appearance
  • preps products for use in the Cooking School
  • delivers excellent customer service while assisting with teaching hands-on and demonstrative classes in the Cooking School, hosting private events in the Cooking School, and catering special events
  • assists with the development of recipes for use in the Cooking School
  • effectively markets and sells Harmons products
  • completes assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
  • assists with the planning of menus and purchasing necessary ingredients
  • sets a professional and positive example to others
  • communicates effectively and works closely with the Cooking School Chef and Cooking School Coordinator
  • ensures company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity are maintained
  • assists in other areas as needed
