We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Cook to join our Springfield Dairy Queen team. This role involves preparing and cooking menu items such as burgers, fries, chicken, and other hot foods according to Dairy Queen’s established recipes and quality standards. The position is ideal for individuals who are quick on their feet, enjoy a dynamic kitchen environment, and are passionate about cooking. The cook role is integral to maintaining smooth kitchen operations, particularly during peak hours and busy seasonal periods when the kitchen environment can become warm and fast-paced. As part of the team, the cook will support their coworkers by assisting with food prep, stocking, and ensuring that the workstation remains clean and organized in compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude. Although previous cooking or customer service experience is preferred, it is not mandatory; a willingness to learn and a passion for great service are essential. The role requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly during busy shifts, as well as flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas days when the store is closed.
This position offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $14.75, including tips, which will be based on experience.
