Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
  • Knowledge of cooking temperatures for various types of food (meats, vegetables, desserts, etc.)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • One year cooking experience in a restaurant, healthcare or hospitality setting

Job Duties

  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Establish line for each meal period and prepare plates according to resident diets, prepare all residents late trays
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen, monitor sanitation procedures for daily, weekly and monthly schedules
  • Monitor all hot and cold temperature logs daily
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Check quality of ingredients
