Job Description
Hilton is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences across its diverse portfolio of hotels and resorts. With a legacy that spans over a century, Hilton has established itself as a leader in the hospitality industry, focusing on quality service, innovation, and sustainability. The company prides itself on maintaining high standards in all aspects of hotel operations, including food service, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. Working at Hilton means being part of a dynamic and inclusive environment where employees are valued and encouraged to grow professionally.
This specific role is centered around maintaining the highest standards in kitchen hygiene and food handling at a Hilton hotel. The position involves ensuring compliance with Hilton's rigorous standards and all local health regulations, which is crucial for the safety and satisfaction of guests. Responsibilities extend beyond food preparation and cooking to include detailed cleaning and organization of the kitchen and lobby areas. Collaboration with kitchen stewards, if available, is an integral part of maintaining a clean and efficient workspace. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, from cleaning equipment like ovens and hood vents to polishing stainless steel and brass fixtures.
In addition to cleanliness, the role involves practical kitchen duties such as sweeping, mopping, and trash management. Food preparation duties include cooking to order according to Hilton's standards, rotating food supplies using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method to ensure freshness and minimize waste, and prepping pantry items for the following day. Creativity is encouraged in this role through the development of "Chef Specials," which are designed in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Director to enhance the dining experience.
Communication is key, as the individual must regularly inform the Food and Beverage Director about food inventory needs and shortages, sometimes assisting in ordering supplies. Adhering to company dress codes, including wearing approved uniforms, name tags, hats, and slip-resistant shoes, is mandatory to uphold professional appearance and safety standards. This role demands efficiency, organization, and a proactive approach to managing kitchen tasks, with a clear emphasis on upholding Hilton's reputation for quality and cleanliness. The Food and Beverage Director oversees this position and holds the authority to modify duties and administer disciplinary action if standards are not met satisfactorily. This position is ideal for someone committed to excellence in hospitality and eager to contribute to a respected global brand.
