As a Cook at Encore Senior Living, you will play a crucial role in preparing and serving well-balanced, delicious meals designed specifically for seniors. This position requires adaptability and critical thinking to modify menus as needed to meet the unique preferences and dietary requirements of senior residents. The role involves not only meal preparation but also presenting the food in an appealing manner, serving, cleaning up, and properly storing food items to maintain quality and safety standards. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience in food preparation preferred but not required
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Commitment to upholding the organization’s core values of integrity, compassion, quality and diversity
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Willingness to work in a drug-free environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of experience preparing food from scratch or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work calmly and professionally in all situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a love for working with seniors
  • Willingness to participate in full training program
  • Capable of making adaptable decisions regarding menu changes

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch following a menu tailored for seniors
  • Present and serve balanced and delicious meals
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas
  • Store food items safely and properly
  • Adapt menu items as needed to accommodate resident preferences and dietary restrictions
  • Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies
  • Follow health and safety guidelines during food preparation and service
