Job Description

Epic Systems Corporation, headquartered in the picturesque city of Verona, Wisconsin, is a leading software company known for its commitment to revolutionizing healthcare through technology. Nestled just outside Madison, Epic boasts a uniquely themed campus designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and productivity among its employees. With an emphasis on innovation and quality, Epic creates robust software solutions that support quality care delivery for patients around the world. The company has earned a reputation not only for its cutting-edge technology but also for fostering an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion as fundamental principles. Employees at Epic enjoy a dynamic work environment that balances personal growth, professional achievement, and an enriching quality of life.

The culinary team at Epic represents an exciting opportunity for chefs who are passionate about creative, sustainable cooking in a setting unlike any traditional restaurant or hospitality venue. This role is based on Epic's campus in Madison, WI, and requires relocation with financial assistance provided. Successful candidates will join a community of talented culinary professionals dedicated to composing and preparing scratch-made dishes that change daily. Chefs at Epic take pride in crafting innovative menus that blend healthy, sustainable ingredients with diverse culinary techniques. The role offers competitive pay starting at $25.00 per hour, eligibility for annual raises and bonuses, and daytime work hours from Monday through Friday (typically 7 am to 3 pm). The full benefits package includes health insurance with zero copays, dental, vision, generous paid time off, and more, ensuring employees are well cared for inside and outside of work.

Epic's culinary approach is distinctive because of its emphasis on creativity, variety, and ownership. Chefs are empowered to bring new ideas to the table, whether it's reinventing traditional dishes or experimenting boldly outside the box. The menu’s daily changes mean that no two days are alike, offering an exciting challenge and varied experiences such as rolling sushi or catering specialized events onsite. This variety extends to the opportunity to work across different venues within Epic, allowing culinary professionals to collaborate with different teams, use diverse equipment, and engage a broad spectrum of ingredients. With a high level of autonomy from the outset, chefs are responsible for the complete process of their dishes from conception through plating, ensuring that every meal is as delicious as it is visually appealing.

Living and working in Madison offers an exceptional lifestyle, with the city recognized as one of the greenest in America, the best city for renters, the fittest city in America, and among the top metros for young professionals. As a city surrounded by water and home to the University of Wisconsin and the state capital, Madison is a vibrant hub where work-life balance is genuinely achievable. Beyond merely offering employment, Epic provides meaningful experiences, including a four-week sabbatical after five years with opportunities for global travel and adventure. Employees have used this time to kayak in Patagonia, attend concerts in Ireland, build libraries in Tanzania, and run marathons in Antarctica, illustrating Epic's commitment to enriching lives beyond the workplace.

With its merit-based compensation, stock grants that allow a greater stake in the company's success, and comprehensive healthcare benefits, Epic ensures its culinary staff are supported as key contributors to its mission. Additionally, the organization is steadfast in offering equal employment opportunities, with inclusiveness deeply integrated into its core values. This culinary position at Epic represents more than a job; it's a chance to be part of a visionary company that values innovation, sustainability, and employee well-being in equal measure.
