Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including early mornings and some weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals in large quantities
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules including early mornings and occasionally weekends

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food according to district menus and nutritional guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations
  • Collaborate with nutrition staff to support meal service operations
  • Assist with training new kitchen staff as needed
  • Participate in regular safety and hygiene inspections
