Your daily responsibilities as a Cook at Aramark will take you beyond simple food preparation. You will set up your workstation efficiently, preparing ingredients by measuring, chopping, mixing, and peeling. Your expertise in using kitchen utensils and operating equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers will help produce dishes that are baked, roasted, broiled, steamed, and garnished to perfection following established procedures. You will be expected to adhere steadfastly to food safety policies, ensuring proper storage and sanitation of all food items and work areas. Additionally, maintaining an excellent customer service attitude when interacting with guests, clients, and co-workers is essential. The role may involve physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or walk and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Adherence to food safety policies and sanitation procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
