The Cook position is integral to our food production operations, supporting both a la carte service and private catered events. This role demands excellence in culinary arts, a thorough understanding of kitchen operations, and adherence to strict safety and sanitation standards. Successful candidates will engage in a variety of cooking responsibilities, including food preparation at broiler, pantry, and sauté stations, portion control, and presentation with a keen eye for quality and detail. They will work closely with the Sous Chef to ensure menu standards and manage food supplies efficiently. Ability to communicate effectively in English and a cooperative spirit for team collaboration are essential. This role requires physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods, in a kitchen environment subject to both heat and cold exposure. Reliable transportation is a must. Job Requirements

  • Serve Safe or Maricopa County Food Handler's certification

Job Duties

  • working knowledge of broiler, pantry and sauté stations
  • confers with Sous Chef for menu requirements and food supplies for preparation
  • prepares and cooks food including a la carte items according to specifications, proper presentation and sanitary practices
  • portions food and issues to servers upon order
  • prepares cold side items according to menus and specials
  • makes daily preparations of menu items with high quality and presentation
  • assists in other food preparation for events as needed
  • cleans work area when cooking is completed and assists in keeping kitchen areas clean
  • operates equipment in a safe and sanitary manner
  • reports to Sous Chef or supervisors on food supply shortages or station issues
  • assists in receiving and storage of food as necessary
  • performs other duties as requested
  • cooks hot side food items for banquets and supports other cooks in preparation
  • breaks down the station at shift end, turns off equipment and locks storage areas
