With over 14,000 employees and 130 care locations, the organization handles more than two million patient encounters annually, emphasizing innovation, strategic growth, and deep community commitment. LifeBridge Health fosters a culture of CARE BRAVELY, where compassion, courage, and urgency drive decision-making and empower teams to shape the future of healthcare. The organization is committed to equal opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity and expression.
The Cook position at Levindale Hospital, a part of the LifeBridge Health network, offers full-time employment with varying hours including weekend commitments. The role is based in Baltimore, Maryland, and carries an hourly wage of $17.00, with a sign-on bonus potential of $1,000. Within the Food & Nutrition department located in Support Services, this position plays a crucial role in preparing and cooking meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors according to management directions. The cook’s responsibilities emphasize maintaining food quality by adhering to proper food preparation, handling, and sanitation standards to ensure safety and nutritional value. The role involves reviewing production sheets to determine the type and quantity of food to prepare, planning cooking schedules strategically to minimize waste and the use of leftovers, and cleaning and sanitizing preparation areas and equipment thoroughly. Another integral duty includes assisting the tray line, contributing to the smooth distribution of meals throughout the hospital. This position is ideal for individuals committed to food safety, quality, and efficiency within a healthcare setting.
Beyond the culinary tasks, LifeBridge Health provides an environment focused on impact, growth, and support. Employees have access to professional development opportunities such as tuition reimbursement and training to develop specialized skills, including neonatal critical care leadership. The organization values collaborative teamwork, offering resources like unit-based practice councils and advanced clinical education support to improve workflow efficiency and patient outcomes. Benefits are competitive and comprehensive, featuring compensation that may include overtime, shift differentials, premium pay, and bonuses, as well as health plans, wellness programs, and free parking. LifeBridge Health’s culture and benefits make it an excellent workplace for those seeking to contribute to community-centered care while advancing their careers in a supportive, innovative environment.
