Job Description
Cunningham Restaurant Group (CRG), founded and owned by Mike Cunningham since 1997, has established a reputation for creating unforgettable dining experiences in the tri-state area. Beginning from its modest roots in Brownsburg, Indiana, CRG has grown into a vibrant restaurant group with eighteen unique concepts operating across forty restaurants. The company’s steady expansion has been guided by a strong commitment to community impact and culinary innovation, prioritizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients and full scratch kitchens. CRG’s dedication to quality and sustainability is reflected in every dish they serve, emphasizing consistent growth without sacrificing the integrity of their offerings.
As part of this dynamic group, the Cook position plays a crucial role in continuing the tradition of culinary excellence. The focus of the Back of House (BOH) team is on preparing fresh, flavorful dishes using scratch-made recipes and the highest quality ingredients sourced from local providers. The Cook is responsible for ensuring that every menu item delivered to guests meets CRG's high standards in taste, presentation, and food safety. Culinary skills, attention to detail, and a deep respect for kitchen hygiene and safety protocols are essential to succeed in this role.
The role involves preparing and portioning ingredients accurately according to standardized recipes, ensuring freshness and quality throughout the food preparation process. Cooks at CRG are expected to be adept at managing cooking times, temperatures, and seasoning to accommodate customer preferences while maintaining consistent product excellence. Having an in-depth knowledge of the menu items and the ability to communicate this effectively to team members and guests is an important aspect of the job.
Additionally, the Cook contributes to kitchen organization by maintaining cleanliness, labeling, and proper storage of food items, and assisting with inventory management when needed. They work collaboratively with chefs, sous chefs, and kitchen assistants, fostering smooth kitchen operations through clear, effective communication.
Health and safety are paramount at CRG, and the Cook must rigorously follow all food handling procedures and report any issues related to food storage or equipment maintenance promptly. CRG offers a competitive compensation package and opportunities for professional development within a fast-paced and supportive kitchen environment. The company values passionate culinary professionals who take pride in delivering visually appealing and delicious dishes and who are committed to contributing to a positive team environment. This opportunity is perfect for cooks seeking to grow their careers in a thriving restaurant group dedicated to exceptional dining experiences and community values.
