In this role, cooks are entrusted with preparing a variety of dishes by following established recipes and production guidelines, ensuring consistency and high-quality food offerings. As a cook at Aramark, you will manage the setup of your workstation, prepare ingredients through measuring, chopping, trimming, and mixing, and operate various kitchen appliances such as ovens and mixers. Proper storage of food following safety policies is critical, as is maintaining cleanliness through sanitizing work areas and equipment. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous cooking experience required
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation
- Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
- Willingness to work flexible hours
- Ability to wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment
- Compliance with company safety standards
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- Knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, and standing for extended periods
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare various foods following production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with necessary ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
- Safely use kitchen utensils including knives
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- Apply different cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- Arrange, garnish, and portion foods according to guidelines
- Store food properly following safety policies
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor
- Adhere to Aramark safety policies and food safety procedures
- Ensure security of company assets
