The Cook position at Aramark offers a dynamic role for individuals who are passionate about food and cooking. This specific role is a PM position requiring availability from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm, offering an hourly wage of $18.00. The duties include preparing a variety of foods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming using various cooking methods on meats, vegetables, and other items. Setting up the workstation with necessary ingredients, using kitchen utensils safely, and operating equipment like ovens, mixers, and slicers are key components of the job. Maintenance of cleanliness and sanitation in work areas, equipment, and utensils is vital, as well as adherence to Aramark's food safety and security policies.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or related role
  • knowledge of food preparation principles
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • availability for PM shift from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
