In this role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of dishes by measuring, mixing, chopping, and cooking ingredients according to standardized recipes and production guidelines. You will operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers while adhering to food safety standards. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to follow production guidelines and safety procedures
  • Capacity to perform physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing and walking

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations including accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
  • Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensure security of company assets
