The position of Sushi Cook at Atlantis All-You-Can-Eat Sushi Bar requires a dedicated professional to work varied swing shifts, ensuring the preparation and presentation of sushi meet the establishment's high standards. This role involves preparing sushi ingredients like rice, fish, and vegetables with precision, maintaining impeccable hygiene and food safety protocols throughout the cooking process. The sushi cook will execute traditional and artistic sushi crafting techniques including making sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi, ensuring dishes are both visually appealing and delicious.

In addition to food preparation, the sushi cook collaborates closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely service. They assist in innovative menu development and engage with customers, offering product recommendations and answering questions to elevate the dining experience. The role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, and maintain focus on detailed tasks under busy kitchen conditions.

Employees must strictly adhere to Atlantis policies, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards, including portion control and waste management, contributing to the restaurant's operational excellence.   • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots pans and trays
  • Comfortable working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment

  • Culinary degree or relevant culinary certifications are a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare sushi ingredients such as rice fish vegetables and other components ensuring high-quality and fresh ingredients are used
  • Slice chop and fillet fish and other seafood with precision and skill
  • Roll sushi rolls nigiri sashimi and other sushi variations using traditional techniques and artistic presentation
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station following proper hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ensure that sushi dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner to meet customer demands
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and other sushi chefs to coordinate orders and maintain a smooth workflow
  • Assist in the creation and development of new sushi dishes and menu items
  • Interact with customers provide recommendations and answer questions about the sushi offerings
  • Stay updated on sushi trends techniques and ingredients to continuously improve skills and enhance menu offerings
  • Adhere to restaurant policies procedures and regulations including portion control and waste management
  • Prepare food items while adhering to health department regulations
  • Follow Atlantis Policies and Procedures
  • Produce a consistent and quality product
  • Other assignments as assigned by management
