The position available is that of a full-time Cafe Worker at the Summit facility located in Bolivia, North Carolina. This role involves working on-site and is essential to the daily operation of the correctional facility's café or commissary. The Cafe Worker will be primarily responsible for preparing and serving a variety of food and beverage items including coffee, sandwiches, snacks, and other general café fare. The role requires adherence to strict food safety, sanitation, and correctional facility security protocols, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment.

This position offers a reliable Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and pays $17.00 per hour, offering a competitive wage within this sector. The role supports numerous operational tasks such as operating point-of-sale systems, restocking inventory, managing sanitation of food service areas, and providing excellent customer service to staff and authorized visitors within the correctional environment. Additionally, the Cafe Worker collaborates with their team to ensure smooth and efficient food service operations, including assisting with food preparation, packaging, labeling, and performing opening and closing duties as assigned.

This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift weights ranging from 25 to 40 pounds. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking capabilities, and reliable attendance. Experience or proficiency in cash handling and operating registers is favored, and certifications such as a Food Handler's certification are considered an asset.
