This position is for a Cook Supervisor role located at a correctional facility in South Bend, Indiana. The employment type is full-time and onsite, offering a competitive wage of $18.50 per hour. As a Cook Supervisor, the successful candidate will oversee kitchen operations within this dynamic and fast-paced environment, ensuring that food preparation and service meet established culinary standards. This role requires leadership skills to instruct and train kitchen staff on food service processes, sanitation standards, and quality controls that adhere to Summit’s expectations and regulatory requirements.
The Cook Supervisor will be responsible for supervising employees to maintain efficient workflow in the kitchen. They will ensure that meal services begin promptly, that food portions are consistent, and that the quality, temperature, and appearance of meals meet rigorous standards. This role demands strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a calm and organized kitchen. Candidates will need to possess credible prior culinary experience, especially in settings involving high volume and scratch cooking, to effectively perform and enforce proper culinary methods and techniques.
Additionally, the Cook Supervisor must provide excellent customer service within a correctional environment, fostering a positive atmosphere for team members and those they serve. The role also includes a supervisory aspect, requiring experience in leading teams to meet operational goals. Preferred qualifications include a Food Handlers certification, though this is not mandatory.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of culinary experience in a high volume establishment
- knowledge of culinary methods and standards
- experience in supervising kitchen staff
- ability to manage multiple tasks
