Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- Available to work Wednesday through Sunday 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm
- Experience in cooking and food preparation
- Ability to lead and supervise culinary team in absence of management
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and transport heavy items
- Able to tolerate extremes of temperature and exposure to cleaning chemicals
- Must be able to stand for long periods
Job Qualifications
- Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- ServSafe certification obtained within 90 days of hire if not current
- One or more years of line cook experience preferred
- One or more years of experience as a lead or supervisor in the food industry preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
- Understanding of workflow, prioritization, and deadlines
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service preferred
- Knowledge of modified diet preparation techniques preferred
- Experience with commercial cooking equipment preferred
Job Duties
- Plan, prepare, and cook foods for cafe, patient, and catering settings
- Follow recipes and instructions for food preparation
- Prepare bulk food items and large scale production dishes
- Maintain an organized and sanitary working environment
- Ensure proper quantities of production with appropriate rotation of product
- Interact with customers in various venues including catering, retail outlets, and patient care areas
- Provide after hours supervision and lead culinary team in the absence of leadership
- Deliver patient meals, cashier, stock, and use ware-washing machines as needed
