The position of Cook Supervisor at RW Solutions is an exciting, dynamic role designed for individuals with a passion for culinary leadership and operational management in a large-scale food service setting. Located at 200 Myrtle Street, New Britain, CT, this full-time role follows a Monday through Friday schedule, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. As a Cook Supervisor, you will play a vital role in overseeing the kitchen team, ensuring daily operations run smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. This role demands active engagement in meal preparation and production, collaboration with management on developing menus and cleaning schedules, and supervision of food service and custodial staff to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly kitchen environment.
Beyond managing kitchen logistics, the Cook Supervisor is responsible for maintaining kitchen storage and cleaning equipment, ensuring compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations including HACCP requirements, and monitoring inventory levels for food and supplies. Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in kitchen management and meal preparation
- minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience
- strong knowledge of food handling and safety procedures
- knowledge of therapeutic diets
- basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- ability to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
- ability to lift and carry 30-50 lb regularly
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to bend, reach, and crouch frequently
- ability to work in hot and cold environments
- adherence to strict sanitation and hygiene standards
- willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required
- authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in kitchen management and meal preparation, ideally in a large-scale food service environment
- minimum of 1-2 years of team lead or supervisory experience
- strong knowledge of proper food handling and safety procedures
- strong knowledge of therapeutic diets including grounds, chops, and purees
- basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- ServSafe certification (preferred)
- experience in a hospital or convalescent home setting (preferred)
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- solid organizational skills
- ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Job Duties
- Supervise food service employees to support efficient daily kitchen operations
- collaborate with the Assistant Manager to develop menus, recipes, and cleaning schedules
- plan and prepare meals with kitchen staff, coordinating daily meal production
- perform and oversee food service and custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility
- maintain kitchen storage areas and cleaning equipment in safe and organized manner
- ensure staff follow proper food handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
- complete and maintain required HACCP logs
- monitor and restock food, materials, and supplies as needed
- perform other related duties as necessary
