The Cook Supervisor position is a full-time, onsite role located in West Chester, Pennsylvania, at Summit's correctional facility kitchen. This role focuses on efficiently managing the kitchen operations within a demanding and dynamic environment, ensuring that food service meets established quality standards. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $22.00 to $24.00, depending on experience, along with a $1500 sign-on bonus as an added incentive.

In this supervisory capacity, the successful candidate will oversee and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, emphasizing the importance of culinary standards, sanitation, and timely meal service. Responsibilities include instructing employees on proper food preparation techniques and sanitation procedures to maintain health and safety compliance. This role demands attention to detail, leadership in fast-paced settings, and the ability to multitask effectively. The cook supervisor ensures that food portions, appearance, temperature, and overall quality adhere strictly to established regulations and expectations.

Candidates must be prepared to work under the security protocols required for a correctional environment, including passing criminal background checks and drug screening. The role requires reliable attendance and the capacity to follow assigned schedules. Prior culinary experience, particularly in high-volume settings emphasizing scratch cooking, is essential. Supervisory experience and product knowledge are critical components of this role, along with strong customer service skills tailored to this unique clientele. Certification such as Food Handlers is preferred but not mandatory.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance for full-time employees, voluntary insurance offerings for accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity, as well as discount programs. Additional perks include commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, 401(k) retirement plans, sick time, holiday pay for nine paid holidays, tuition reimbursement for full-time employees, and paid time off. This robust benefits package supports employee wellbeing and work-life balance.

Joining Summit as a Cook Supervisor means becoming part of a team that serves an essential societal role by maintaining food quality and safety in a correctional facility.
