Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 1-3 years experience in food service
- Valid driver’s license
- Successful completion of background check and drug testing
- Current CPR certification
- AVADE training completion within 90 days of hire

Job Duties
- Carefully plan meals to ensure that residents’ food needs are being met
- Purchase food to follow posted menus and standardized recipes
- Oversee food inventory by monitoring for proper food temperature, rotating, and storing food properly to eliminate waste
- Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, utensils, and equipment after meals
- Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles
- Verify that prepared food meets the requirements for quality, quantity, and any dietary needs
- Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking
- Requisition food products, check inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality
- Record supply usage for inventory and records
- Supervise and provide direction for other Cooks at LWH
- Ensure that food safety guidelines are followed, including sanitation and health and safety standards
- Ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of Lifeways’ clients and records
- Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with Lifeway’s policies/procedures, Oregon Administrative Rules, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations
