The role of Cook Supervisor at the Fayette County TN Justice Center in Somerville, Tennessee, offers a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate food service operations in a correctional facility kitchen. This is a full-time, onsite position where the incumbent supervises a team responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The pay for this role is $19.00 per hour.

As a Cook Supervisor, you will be responsible for instructing and training kitchen staff in all aspects of food service and sanitation, ensuring meals start on time, and maintaining standards related to portion control, food appearance, and temperature. This position demands a strong knowledge of culinary methods and standards, particularly within high-volume and scratch cooking environments. Attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent customer service skills are essential, alongside experience in team supervision.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of culinary experience in a high volume or quality food service setting
  • Prior experience in supervising a team
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to train and instruct employees
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least one years’ prior culinary experience in a quality and high volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
  • Complete knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques and standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks at once
  • High-level product knowledge
  • Experience supervising a team
  • Ability to provide friendly and helpful customer service
  • Food Handlers certification preferred
