The position of Cook - Suites, within the Food & Beverage department, reports directly to the Executive/Sous Chef and is a part-time role classified as non-exempt. The hourly wage for this position is $17.40. This role is integral to the seamless operation of food service within luxury suites and catering to entertainers, ensuring exceptional dining experiences during live events. The Cook - Suites will be responsible for preparing both hot and cold food items in accordance with standardized recipes, maintaining top-quality service for guests and colleagues, and adhering strictly to proper food handling and safety protocols. The cook will need to manage multiple orders simultaneously while efficiently utilizing time, materials, and equipment to minimize waste and control costs.

Moreover, the role involves inventory management tasks such as assisting with opening and closing counts and timely requesting refills to ensure sufficient stock during events. Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation both during and at the end of shifts is crucial to meet safety guidelines and prepare for subsequent team members. Proficiency with various kitchen equipment including knives, grills, flat tops, and fryers is necessary, alongside strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to the fast-paced, ever-changing environment typical in live event venues.   • One-year certificate from culinary school or comparable experience
  • Ability to read and interpret recipes and prep lists
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Job Duties

  • Prepares and distributes food for the luxury suites and entertainers food
  • Prepares hot and cold food to order as per standardized recipes
  • Provides highest quality service to guests and co-workers at all times
  • Follows proper food handling techniques and coordinates the use of time, material, and equipment to avoid waste and unnecessary expense
  • Assists with opening and closing inventory counts
  • Sets station up prior to opening to ensure a state of readiness based on par levels
  • Stores and properly handles raw and cooked foods and non-food supplies
  • Follows temperature danger zone guidelines to ensure food safety
  • Maintains a sanitizer bucket at proper dilution at all times
  • Ensures all products are properly wrapped, labeled, and dated
  • Practices FIFO (first in, first out) for all products
  • Operates equipment (knives, grill, flat top, fryer) according to use and safety instructions
  • Cooks the exact number of items ordered by each customer, managing several orders simultaneously
  • Requests inventory refills as needed to ensure adequate supply
  • Keeps work area clean, organized, and sanitary
  • Cleans and organizes workstation at end of shift to ensure safety and readiness for next shift
