Given its focus on senior care, roles within Koelsch often require candidates to exhibit empathy, professionalism, and a dedication to improving the lives of older adults.
The Cook position at Koelsch Communities plays a crucial role in supporting the culinary needs of the community while contributing to the residents’ overall satisfaction and health. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality, appealing meals in compliance with menu guidelines and schedules. The successful candidate will work closely within the culinary team to ensure food safety, appropriate storage, and menu accuracy, adhering to policies set by physicians and the community. Essential to the role is the preparation of special diets tailored to the specific health requirements of residents. This is a hands-on role that demands a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and effective communication skills. The role does not involve supervisory responsibilities but requires collaboration with dietary supervisors and kitchen staff to resolve menu or operational issues. The position is fully on-site and involves physical tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking, making stamina and physical capability important. Employees in this role must also comply with community standards for appearance and conduct, including dress code policies. Koelsch Communities values dependability, honesty, and a team-oriented mindset in its workforce.
