Job Requirements

  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses/certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • Must be able to work holidays and weekends
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary apprenticeship, Associate’s Degree from a culinary institution or equivalent is preferred
  • Basic food preparation knowledge and line work experience
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment including choppers, slicers, mixers, and grinders
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepares foods that are to be grilled, fried, broiled, baked, boiled, braised, poached
  • Ensures all plates or pans served are aesthetically appealing and cooked to specifications
  • Keeps workstation neat and clean
  • Assists co-workers to ensure efficient kitchen operation
  • Ensures cleanliness of working area and proper storing of foods
  • Stocks items fully and ensures equipment is in good working condition
  • Assists with duties at special events including carving, cooking, setting up, and teardown
  • Cleans and sanitizes work and public spaces
  • Attends and participates in meetings
  • Performs work regularly and predictably
  • Other duties as assigned
