Job Description

As a Cook at Roberts Resorts & Communities, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests during the seasonal operation from October 1, 2026, through April 15, 2027. This is a temporary position offered at an hourly rate of $15.15 and provides an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals to apply and grow their skills in a vibrant and fast-paced kitchen environment. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing, cooking, and serving a variety of dishes while upholding the highest standards of kitchen cleanliness and food safety. As part of the kitchen team, you will work independently and collaboratively to ensure smooth kitchen operations and contribute to guests’ satisfaction.
This role demands both culinary expertise and a dedication to maintaining a safe and hygienic workspace. You will prepare meals according to guest orders, carefully ensuring quality and consistency. Your organizational skills will come into play as you manage inventory, receive deliveries, and maintain proper storage of food supplies. Compliance with food health regulations is crucial, reinforcing the safety and wellbeing of guests and staff. Beyond the kitchen, you may also engage with guests at the front counter, providing friendly and efficient service that reflects Roberts Resorts & Communities' commitment to outstanding customer care.
In addition to these core duties, you will assist with food preparation tasks such as cutting, chopping, and washing ingredients, and operate kitchen equipment under strict safety guidelines. Job Requirements
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide two-digit numbers and perform basic operations with American currency weight volume and distance
- demonstrated ability to analyze situations and apply logical reasoning to resolve issues effectively
- able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and find practical solutions to challenges
- strong oral and written communication skills
- ability to organize tasks effectively and manage time efficiently
- high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- a minimum of two years of experience in culinary services food preparation or a related field preferred
- demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- experience in managing kitchen inventory and operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- familiarity with health and safety regulations in the food service industry
- constantly stand walk push pull lift grasp
- frequently use arms and hands
- manual dexterity for using kitchen equipment
- clear vision and hearing to communicate effectively

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- a minimum of two years of experience in culinary services food preparation or a related field preferred
- demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team showing initiative and a commitment to quality and hygiene standards
- experience in managing kitchen inventory and operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- familiarity with health and safety regulations in the food service industry
Job Duties
- Prepare food according to guest orders ensuring each dish meets high-quality standards
- maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and stockroom organizing supplies and equipment for efficient operation
- adhere strictly to food health and safety regulations to ensure the wellbeing of guests and staff
- receive deliveries checking and reconciling contents against orders to ensure accuracy and quality
- deliver prepared orders to guests promptly ensuring a satisfactory dining experience
- clean and sanitize food preparation areas cooking surfaces and utensils to maintain a hygienic environment
- assist in the food preparation process including cutting chopping slicing and washing ingredients
- operate kitchen equipment such as stoves and deep fryers with strict adherence to safety protocols
- manage inventory and communicate kitchen needs to supervisors to ensure necessary items are stocked
- engage with customers when necessary providing friendly and efficient service at the front counter and register
- ensure proper storage of deliveries organizing supplies to maintain order and freshness
- provide a valid Food Handlers Certificate before beginning duties demonstrating knowledge of safe food handling practices
- perform additional duties as assigned to support the kitchen team and enhance guest satisfaction
