As a part of the Field Operations department, Church's Chicken is seeking a motivated individual to join their team as a Cook, reporting directly to the Restaurant General Manager. This role is vital in ensuring that food preparation and cooking processes meet the company's high standards as outlined in the Operating Standards Manual (OSM).

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift medium to heavy loads up to 75 pounds
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to continuously stand and walk for up to eight hours
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and use safety equipment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly workspace

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed cooking procedures and recipes
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to stand and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Set up the batter table, collect all necessary smallwares, and prepare batter mix
  • Ensure that call sheets are complete, posted and used
  • Check all equipment and immediately report any malfunctions within the area to the Manager in Charge
  • Color balance fryers and add sufficient shortening to maintain proper levels
  • Filter and clean all fryers at designated times ensuring safety procedures are followed
  • Pan sufficient chicken for operational needs
  • Prepare and cook all food products according to business needs and manager's directions
