The Cook position at Aramark offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about food and cooking. As a Cook on the team, you will be immersed in a creative culinary environment that goes beyond basic food preparation. Surrounded by fresh ingredients and the latest kitchen equipment, you will bring recipes to life and experiment with diverse cuisines, flavors, and cooking styles. This role requires adherence to Aramark's production guidelines and safety procedures, helping to ensure food safety and employee well-being. You will prepare a variety of foods by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling ingredients while safely using utensils and kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. Your responsibilities will include cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming different foods, as well as properly storing food to comply with food safety policies.

Beyond food preparation, you will maintain cleanliness by sanitizing work areas, equipment, and utensils, and you will engage positively with customers, guests, and coworkers to provide excellent service. The role involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Aramark provides uniforms and may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure employee safety. Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
  • ability to wear uniforms and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • strong interpersonal communication skills
  • basic math and counting skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers
  • adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
