Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred one year healthcare or trayline experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Prior cooking experience preferred (1-2 years)
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Utilizes standardized recipes and ingredient control
  • Follows proper preparation procedures
  • Checks food temperatures, texture, color, aroma, and taste prior to service
  • Batch cooks food products to maintain quality
  • Ensures proper food rotation using first in, first out method
  • Adheres to safe food storage practices
  • Follows time management protocols and departmental timelines
  • Records all food production amounts and meets requested quantities
  • Utilizes carryover products properly
  • Attends scheduled department inservices and production meetings
  • Cross-trains and assists with training other employees
  • Reports problems with recipes and production sheets promptly
  • Maintains professional image and follows uniform policy
  • Responds positively to requests and interactions
