Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one to three years of experience in food preparation, preferably in a restaurant or assisted living setting
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- ability to follow recipes and menus accurately
- good communication skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
Job Qualifications
- One to three years of previous restaurant experience
- preferred scratch cooking experience
- supervisory experience a plus
- possess a general understanding of the needs of the elderly as well as developmentally and physically challenged individuals
- be cheerful, have an enthusiastic attitude, and a willingness to learn new knowledge and skills
Job Duties
- Preparing nutritious, appetizing, and attractive meals in accordance with the daily menu
- assure that food is cooked properly and all safety precautions are taken with regard to food handling and sanitation
- assist the servers in providing a smooth, efficient, and safe environment, inclusive of dining area
- be a team player and work well with residents and other departmental personnel
- provide our residents with a consistent, high-quality food service experience
