The position also entails performing various sanitation tasks, using proper cleaning chemicals and protective equipment, and participating actively in the hospital’s performance improvement and survey processes. Alongside these critical duties, the role requires proficient use of computerized menu management systems to update patient information, manage dietary selections, and generate dietary reports and tray tickets.\n\nCandidates for this position should have at least one year of experience in quantity food preparation, ideally within healthcare or similar institutional settings such as hospitals or nursing centers. Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets and texture/liquid modifications
  • Understanding of federal, state, and city food codes and regulations
  • Skilled in quantity cooking
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and menu management system
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Detail-oriented with accuracy and conciseness

Job Duties

  • Prepares food following department standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies and procedures
  • Serves and portions food per department standardized recipes, planned menus, and policies and procedures
  • Follows patient diet order when serving food to patients
  • Labels, dates, and stores food properly according to procedures
  • Takes refrigerator and freezer temperatures twice daily and reports out-of-range temperatures
  • Assists with receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for incoming food and supplies
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment
  • Uses computerized menu management system to update patient information and generate tray tickets
  • Communicates with supervisors regarding equipment issues, stock levels, and other concerns
  • Participates in hospital’s performance improvement and survey processes
